McLean, Virginia-based iMapData, a provider of data visualization and analysis announced that it has merged with PlanetRisk, a provider of big data solutions. The combined entity will take on the PlanetRisk name and will be led by Paul McQuillan who was President and CEO of iMapData. Mark Dumas, who was PlanetRisk founder will become Chief Strategy Officer of the combined entity.
According to the press release: "PlanetRisk provides a comprehensive analysis of “risk and opportunity” to customers around the world. By developing models that enable analysts to recognize hidden patterns, detect anomalies and even forecast future conditions, the company is able to provide a true view of consolidated risk and opportunities, whether at local, national or global levels." iMapData is a portfolio company of Charlotte-based Frontier Capital and was advised on the deal by DLA Piper. PlanetRisk received legal advice from Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich and Rosati. Comments are closed.
