General Dynamics announced that it has acquired Bluefin Robotics, a manufacturer of underwater UAVS for both US military and commercial clients. For the defense market, Bluefin provides solutions for port and harbor security, ship hull and infrastructure inspection, mine countermeasures, unexploded ordnance, rapid environmental assessment, anti-submarine warfare, and ISR. The company is also a Navy SeaPort-e prime contract holder.
Formerly a subsidiary of Battelle Memorial Institute, Bluefin will become part of GD's Mission Systems' Maritime and Strategic line of business. Deal terms were not disclosed. Comments are closed.
