ENGIE Group announced that it has acquired OpTerra Energy Services and its affiliated companies. Based in Oakland, California and with over 300 employees across 25 regional offices, OpTerra designs and builds both public and private systems that reduce energy and cost. OpTerra has achieved over $2 billion in energy savings for its clients which include K-12 schools, universities, commercial and industrial firms, and municipalities. Government projects include the retrofitting of San Jose's streetlights to networked LED's and support of a statewide energy program across 256 schools for the Department of Education in Hawaii. Deal terms were not disclosed.
