It appears that both Airbus and Boeing are concerned about a potential merger of Honeywell and United Technologies Corp. (UTC). On Wednesday, Airbus CEO Tom Enders stated: “I do not see that such a combination would be in the interests of Airbus, and I am under the impression that the leadership of UTC shares my assessment."
Boeing cited the importance of healthy competition in its supply chain and that it would “anticipate taking a very close look at the potential impact on us and our customers of a Honeywell-UTC merger or acquisition.” Airbus and Boeing are both significant customers to Honeywell and UTC, generating approximately $10 billion in revenue to UTC alone.
